Slow-Cooked Apple pie
8 Granny Smith ,cored,peeled,sliced.
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg.
1 1/2 cup biscuit baking mix/divided.
3/4 cup milk.
2 tsp. unsalted butter,softened
3/4 cup sugar.
2 large eggs,beaten.
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract.
1/3 cup packed brown sugar.
3 tsp. butter,chilled
Toss apple slices with the spices in a large bowl.
place in a lightly greased crockpot.
Combine 1/2 cup of the baking mix,milk,butter,sugar,eggs,and vanilla
Mix and spoon over the apples.
Combine remaining baking mix with brown sugar.
Cut in the cold butter,until crumbley.
Sprinkle over apple mixture.
cover and cook on LOW setting for 6-7 hours,until apples tender.
Serves about 6.
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
